Chicago Vacation - Day 8

Day 8 in Chicago started at Sweet and Sassy, a children's spa. The girls got their hair styled fancy and makeup and manicures. The girls then gave us a runway show that was so cute. They had a great time.

After the spa time we went back to Lake Geneva to celebrate Mr. Bahna's birthday. The dinner was at a fun place right on the water. Lauren and Ella and Ella's cousin, Sean had a great time on the playground after the dinner.

Chicago Vacation - Day 7

Day 7 of our Chicago vacation started with a shopping trip. Lauren was able to get an outfit for her first day of school and some matching pjs (with her and her doll.) Ella also got some matching pjs. The girls wore them later that night and they looked so cute. Lauren thought it was great that she and her new doll matched.

After our shopping trip we spent some time at the Brookfield Zoo. The girls had a great time. I think the Brookfield Zoo is such a nice zoo and so nice to walk around. After the zoo we went out for Chicago style pizza. It was a nice day.

Chicago Vacation - Day 6

Day 6 was another downtown Chicago day. Ella had swimming lessons in the morning so Lauren and I took the train downtown and walked around the town. It was fun to show Lauren different buildings and places I worked in when I lived in Chicago. Of course we had to stop by the Northern Trust building. Lauren thought it was great to see the mother ship of where I now work.

After walking around downtown for a few hours, we met Ella and Kim to see the stage performance of the Beauty and the Beast. It was a great show and the girls just loved it.

After the she we all went out to dinner to one of my old favorite places. Of course Lauren wanted to see where I use to live. Lauren wanted me to go and knock on the door to get tours. I did refuse to do that. It was another great day in Chicago.

Chicago Vacation - Day 5

Day 5 of our vacation was a very full day. We started the day at the American Girl Place. Lauren decided that she wanted an American Girl doll for her birthday. Ella also wanted a new doll for her birthday. So we celebrated the girls birthday with new dolls and some new clothes. Eleanor joined us to celebrate her birthday also. Eleanor already had a doll but she got her doll some new clothes and got her ears pierced

We then had a special lunch in the American Girl cafe. It was so cute with special chairs for the dolls to join us. The girls got the have a cake and the waiters sang happy birthday to them. It was a fun morning and one that was so special. I am so happy I was able to share this special time with Lauren.

After lunch we went to Millennium Park. The girls played in the water and had a wonderful time. We stopped by to see the big bean. Lauren loved looking at herself in the bean. After a few hours we head back to Kim's home for dinner. We decide to go out for dinner. The girls brought their dolls with us.

After a wonderful dinner, Eleanor and her mother went home and Lauren and Ella had a doll tea party before bedtime. It was a wonderful and very full day. It was a great way to celebrate Lauren's 8 year old birthday and Ella and Eleanor's 6th birthday.
