School Carnival

Today was Lauren's school carnival. She had a great time playing the games and having fun with her classmates. She won a few rounds of the candy walk and she even dunk her PE teacher in the dunk tank. It was a fun afternoon.

Sledding Fun - President's Day Weekend

Lauren and I joined Brian, Diane, Jacob and Sammie on a trip to the mountains to play in the snow. We had to go a bit further then we did last time but that was where the snow was this weekend. It was Sammie's first time in the snow. She thought sledding and playing in the snow was "awesome". It snowed on and off all day and at times it was so cold but the kids didn't seem to mind. It was a fun day. Next year Lauren is going to take ski/snowboard lessons.

Brownies' Cookie Sale

Lauren is in her second year as a Girl Scout Brownie. One of the the things that loves about Brownies is the cookie sales. This year she sold about 175 boxes. It was a good year. The plan is to use the money the troop made to go to Sea World in the spring.

Lauren was not feeling very well so this morning she was a little tired when she opened her Valentine basket. She loved all the items. She had been asking for a box of candy and was thrilled to finally get a box.

Lauren had a great Valentine's Day. Her box won most creative. She got so many sweets and cards. It was a wonderful Valentine's Day and I am glad I got to spend it with my beautiful sweetie.

Tonight Lauren was working on getting her class and cheer valentines done. She wants to write a short note on each one. It took a while but she got them done.

Cheer Competition #5

Lauren had another cheer competition this weekend. It was a tough week. We had gotten back from Palm Springs about 1:00am on Sunday. The team did not practice very well during the week and one of her teammates was sick all week and was not able to attend today. They had to put another girl in her place. Even with all of that they came in 2nd place out of 9 teams. They only lost by 1/2 of a point. We now have a few weeks off to rest and relax.

Lauren's 4th cheer competition was in Palm Springs. We drove over on Friday afternoon. We got there earlier enough for Lauren and Blaire to enjoy the pool before the teams had a practice.

We had to be up early the next morning for Lauren's team performance. We were all surprised to find out that Lauren's team was in 2nd place after the first day. They did so good.

Lauren was able to enjoy the pool for a few hours in the afternoon.

Sunday once again we had to be up early for the second day of the competition. The did great again and competed against some really good California teams. The team that was in 3rd place jumped over the 1st and 2nd place teams and ended in first. Lauren's team ended in 3rd place. They did soooo good.
