Selling at Fry's (in the very cold!!!)

Lauren joined Brownies this year and one of the things she was so excited to do was sell Girl Scout cookies. For the past 6 weeks we have been selling cookies and now delivering them. Lauren did really well for her first year selling. She sold 175 boxes. Today we had a booth sale at Frys. It was so cold this morning. It rained all last night so it was wet and cold. But the girls did great and sold a bunch more boxes this morning.

Her troop is using the funds to go camping at one of the girl scout camps in Arizona. They are going for two nights. It should be fun.

FCC Chinese New Year Celebration

Today was the annual FCC Chinese New Year celebration. It is always a fun time. They have games, arts and crafts, face painting, a balloon person, a cake walk and much more. They have a great lunch to top off the day.

Lauren did it all. She really enjoys the face painting and she waited a long time for the balloon dog. (He always does an amazing job.) Lauren even won a cake in the cake walk.

It was a fun time but I know that Lauren is getting older and is not as excited about going. This year she would not wear one of her dresses and only agreed to wear the shirt because she got to wear jeans. I have a feeling that this might be one of our last years. But this year she still had fun.

Friday night was the annual Sock Hop at Lauren's school. It was a great night of dancing, hula hooping, and of course eating 50's treats. Lauren had root beer floats, cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs and bubble gum. It was a fun evening. Lauren had a rocking good time!

This morning Lauren got her Valentine basket full of gifts and candy. She had been wanting a new Webkinz and was so happy that there was one in her basket. She is also really into Mad Libs right now. She was excited so get some new ones to complete. (I remember doing them when I was her age.)

I also picked her up from school for lunch. The smile on her face was so wonderful. We had a great time and it made for a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Chinese School

Today Lauren's Chinese School preformed at the Phoenix Chinese Celebration. Only a few of the students were able to come because it was a last minute thing but Lauren had fun. Lauren loves to be on stage and she enjoyed singing in Chinese.

This weekend Lauren started her softball reason. Friday night the league had its opening ceremonies. It was really fun to see all the teams. They had drawings and Lauren won a new bat bag. She was so excited to win a prize.

The next day, Saturday, was Lauren's team first game of the season. This year they have coach pitch and there is more fielding. They really don't keep score but that really does not matter to the girls. They just had fun.

For some reason, Lauren's class had their Valentine's party on Friday. Last week Lauren and I worked on the Valentines that she brought for her class. She was very happy with how they turned out and she was excited to bring them to class.

Since she won't be having a party at school on Monday Lauren and I will celebrate on Monday.
