Kitty

As I stated before, Lauren got a kitty for Christmas. I went back and forth on this decision but decided to go ahead and get her a kitty. It was a bit hard to find a kitty during the winter but I found one at the animal shelter. I picked him because when I picked him up he started to purrr. I thought that he would like to be held and he does.

I had promised Lauren a dog or cat when she turned 5. That would be this summer. I thought it would be so cute if she got one for Christmas but most of all I could control the animal that Lauren got. I thought a cat would be better then a dog since you have to potty train a dog and you have to be around to let him out and etc. So I decided on a cat. I also wanted a short hair one. It drives me crazy to have cat hair on my clothes.

I am starting to get use having a pet. But it just fulls my heart with joy when I see Lauren pick up that kitty and just hug and kiss him. She loves that kitty and he is ok with her. He sits on the side of her tub when she takes a bath and he sleeps with her most nights.

He is still a kitty and is still a bit wild. He loves to bit out feet. He loves to come and jump on us when we are sitting watching tv. He likes to sit right next to me when I am on the computer, which is ok but a bit of a pain when he starts to walk across the keyboard.

Lauren is just really happy that she has a pet of her own.

Springtime

I know that there is still snow coming down in parts of our country, but here we have started to see the signs of Spring. For some people our whole winter would be signs of Spring, but when we reach the mid to high 70s we are ready. (The 60s are still the middle of winter for us!) This weekend was just beautiful. We were able to go to the park for some fun time playing. It is hard to believe that Spring is here. The only problem with that is that summer and our HOT HOT weather is coming soon. However, for now we will enjoy the wonderful weather while we can. It is so nice to have her wear bright colors. I love when fall comes and the fall/winter colors, but there is just something special about Spring and bright colors that can cheer up anyone. What is more cheerful then yellow and pink.

(Lauren usually does not wear pearls to the park to play. We had just came from church and did not take off her pearls. Or, maybe I should just sign her up for the Junior League now!)

Lauren's most favorite thing about the park is the swings. The only problems is that she still does not know how to pump herself so I get stuck pushing and pushing the whole time at the park. There a a few minutes I can talk her into doing something different but if she had her way, she would be on the swing the whole time.

Teddy Bear Tea

A few days ago Lauren was invited to a Teddy Bear tea. She was to bring her favorite stuffed animal or doll to the tea. That was a bit of a challenge since she loves all her stuffed animals. She decided on her rabbit.

This tea was hosted by one of her friends from her school. This friend's family is amazing. Lauren attends a small coop preschool. The parents are to coop a few days a month. However, since I work full time they let me skip the coop part. (I do try to do other things to make up the time.) The parents at this coop are really neat and caring parents. Lauren has been going to this school since she was 2 years old. This is her third year at this school. Many in her class have been there for 3 years also. This children have become really close and they really enjoy being together. It will be a bit strange next year as they go different ways as the start kindergarten. Two of Lauren's classmates will be attending the same school next year. However, they are both boys.

The family that hosted the tea asked me at the beginning of the school year if Lauren could come over after school one day a week. I was a little surprised but they really wanted to come over every Thursday every week. This has been going on since the beginning of the year and Lauren and and her classmate have been really good friends. Lauren is probably one of the shorter girls in her class and her friend is the tallest. They make a cute pair.

The tea was fun. The girls wanted to drink out of the small little tea cups, I think they to be filled about 20 times each. It was a nice afternoon and the girls all seemed to have a wonderful time. I hope that Lauren makes friends like that next year when she starts her new school.

Reading to Kitty

Lauren loves to read books and she loves to have people read to her. At night we read at least 4 to 5 books before she goes to bed. I guess she thought that kitty should also get to enjoy books. Notice that she put a throw over kitty. She told me she thought that he was a little cold. She can be so sweet!

Sweetheart

Valentine's Day was fun. About a week before Valentine's Day Lauren and I worked on getting her Valentine Cards and gift bags ready. She wrote who the card was to and signed her name on about 35 cards. She did such a good job. It took a few days to get through them all be she did it.
Valentine's Day morning she got a Valentine's Minnie and Mickey Mouse. It is so much fun to share this day with my sweetheart.

My Little Princess

Lauren and I went to Disney Princesses On Ice. Lauren thought it was so neat to see all the princesses ice skating. Most of the little girls dress up to go to these programs. I asked Lauren if she wanted to dress up and if so what princess dress she wanted to wear. (We have most of them.) She decided that she wanted to be Snow White. I thought that was and interesting selection because I don't think she has ever watched the Snow White movie. We started it one time and she got bored. It is a pretty dark movie. However, I do think that she looks like a very pretty Snow White. The show was pretty good and all the little girls looked so cute. After the show we met up with a few other families and went and had dinner.
A few days after the show we got a flier in the mail for the Nemo on Ice show. Lauren is now begging us to go to that show also.

Zoo Visit

On President"s Day Lauren and I decided to have a Lauren and Mommy day. We went to a small zoo in our city. It is not the big, main city zoo but a little zoo. It is a really neat little zoo. You feel like you have gone back in time at this place. Some of the fun things we were able to do was feed the giraffes, feed the parrots, take a little train ride, a boat ride and the sky ride. It was a good day and Lauren loved it. We just found out that Lauren's preschool is going there for a field trip in a few weeks. Lauren is excited about going back.
