Lauren and I went over to Don and Janine's home for Thanksgiving dinner. Brian and Diane also came over. It was a nice day to spend with family.
I have so much to be thankful for and I love that we have a day that is set aside to think about those things. I am thankful for my faith, my job, my home, my health, my family and most of all my wonderful daughter, Lauren.

Spa Time

Last weekend Lauren and I decided to have a spa evening. We painted our nails we fixed our hair and just had a fun girls night together.
I love having a girl to do all those girly things.

Thanksgiving Lunch

Lauren and I enjoying her school Thanksgiving lunch together.

Lauren in front of her classroom decorated with turkeys.
Friday afternoon was the annual school Thanksgiving lunch. The families are invited to come and join the students for lunch. This is the third year that we have done this and I enjoy it every year. It is fun to be able to eat with Lauren and see her with her friends. It is a great way to start the Thanksgiving holiday.

D.E.A.R. Day

Lauren and her teacher, Ms. Lindsey.

Reading during the party.
On Friday morning Lauren's class had their D.E.A.R. Day Party. (Drop Everything And Read).
I was able to leave work for a few hours and join the fun. We brought a blanket to sit on and some stuff animals to cuddle with and we read to each other. There was a wonderful breakfast and then the students sang the parents a song. It was a wonderful morning.

Veteran's Day

My dad and my uncle Andy. They both served in WWII.

Lauren and her friend, Reagan.

Veteran's Day is always a nice day because both Lauren and I get the day off. Most Veteran's Day I really don't think about the real reason we have the day off. It is nice that we have a day to honor all the men and women that have served in the armed forces so that we can continue to live with our many freedoms.
Lauren and I spent the day with one of her friends at the zoo. It was a wonderful day and so nice to just be outside walking around and enjoying the day. The girls had fun running around and playing. I really don't think they looked at one animal all day.

Brownies

Lauren's Girl Scout and Brownie Pins.

Ready for school and so proud to be wearing her Brownie's vest.

Lauren has wanted to join girl scouts for a few years. It did not work out for her to join last year but this year it would fit in our schedule. She practiced the Girl Scout pledge and was able to earn her pins. She looks forward to every meeting. She is most excited that in a few months she will start to sell girl scout cookies.

Elaine turned 16 years old during the middle of October, however, with busy schedules and Halloween we were finally able to celebrate on Friday. She got her license this week also. She was so happy because now she can drive her new truck. Before the party, Elaine took Lauren and Sammie on a drive to see her horse. It was so cute to see the three of them leave.
It is hard to believe that she is 16 years old. A few weeks after Elaine turned 16 my nephew, Jon also turned 16. I hope he had a great birthday. I wish we could have celebrated it with him also.
Happy birthday Elaine and Jon.
