Today was Lauren's last day of school. At her school they have a moving up program. It is a cute program and a fun way to end the year.
Lauren did great in 1st grade. She had a wonderful teacher that taught her so much. I am so proud of how much she learned.
Lauren is so excited to go to 2nd grade. I just hope next year is as good as this year has been.

Lauren turns 7 years old on June 27. Since that is the middle of summer and here in Arizona that means very few people are around. A few years ago we started to celebrate her birthday with her friends in May before school ends for the year. So today we had her birthday party with her friends. When her birthday comes in June we will have a little family party.
Lauren has always wanted a party in the backyard with a pinata and other fun games. Since I have a very small backyard I asked my sister if we could do the party at her house, in her huge backyard. I also asked her if she wanted to split a party with me. So, Lauren had her party at Janine's house from 11-2 and then Grant had his party from 3:30 - 6:30. We rented a large water slide in addition to the pool. It was a great way to keep the expenses down and have a great party.
It was a long day but both parties went great and the kids all seemed to have a so much fun. The water slide was a big hit at both parties. It was a really nice day, not too hot. It was a bit windy but the kids didn't even seem to notice. It was two successful parties!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!!! (a few weeks early)

Happy Mother's Day!!!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
There are days when I just look at this little girl and wonder how I was so lucky to become the mother of such a beautiful child. She takes my breath away.

Mother's Day is always so special for me. I love being a mother. It makes life so exciting. I love that Lauren is my daughter. This year I was invited to come to Lauren's class on Friday for a special "Muffins for Moms" treat. Lauren gave me a great book all about me and what I like and etc. We also got to watch a slide show of the kids during the year. It was a wonderful morning.
On Mother's Day we started the day at church. We then went to the Children's Museum and spent a few hours having fun. One of the things that Lauren did was make Mexican paper flowers. They were so lovely that she wanted to wear them in her hair. Although they were very lovely, they didn't look as good in the pictures. As you can see from the top pictures, I tried to crop them out of the photo. It was a great Mother's Day and I spent it the way I wanted, with my wonderful daughter.
Art Walk 2010

We got to watch Grant play in the band. He is going to be in 5th grade next year but has decided he had enough of band.

The annual school art walk means school is nearing the end. This is a great event where the parents get to come and see some of the special art projects that were done during the year. We get to visit the classroom and there are usually some fun items in there also.
The band plays and there is good food and treats. It is a fun evening but a little sad also. It means that the school year is almost over. I can't believe that Lauren only has a few weeks left of 1st grade and then I will have 2nd grader.
Lauren has been very busy the past couple of weeks. She had her school program, "Nuts". SHe had her end of the year cheer program and a few more special events. I had taken a ton of pictures and somehow lost all of them.
