Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day.

I thank God everyday that I am the mother of such a wonderful young lady.  Being Lauren's mother is the best thing in my life.  She gives my life such joy.  I love her so very much!!!

Lauren made me a bunch of crafts and a wonderful card.  We all went over to Brian and Diane's home for dinner.  It was the perfect Mother's Day.

Brownie Bridging

On Friday afternoon, Cherokee Girl Scouts had their annual bridging assembly.  Since Lauren is moving up from Brownies she got to cross the bridge and receive her new sash.  Cherokee has a large number of girls in the program and it was fun to see all the girls.  Lauren is not sure she wants to do it next year and we have to see if she can with cheer.

Art Walk

Last Thursday was Cherokee's annual art walk.  It is always a bittersweet night for me.  It is so fun to walk around and see all the art projects the students did this year and the other special projects but it is also sad because it means the school year is almost over.  This year it was even more fun when Lauren's class performed a bunch of songs on their recorders.  They did such a great job.  The concert ended when they played Ode to Joy.  It was a wonderful evening.

Cheer Outfit American Girl

I found an online site that will make a matching cheer outfit for Lauren's American Girl doll. I ordered it in February and it came in perfect time to bring with us to Anaheim. I think it turned out so cute!!

After the first night of the competition Lauren and a few of her friends went to Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. The girls had a great time and the parents had a nice evening out. It was a perfect way to end the first day of the competition.

Congrats Blaire - National Champions!!

During the middle of the season the coaches asked Blaire to double team on another team. This team struggled at the beginning of the season but they peaked at the right time and they won the National Championships in their division. It was wonderful to watch them go up and accept the big award and jackets and medals. They did a great job!

Nationals - Cheer

This weekend we attended the American Showcase National Championships in Anaheim, CA. It was a fun weekend. Lauren's team did great. They finished in 4th out of about 30 teams. It was so fun to watch them. This is the last year Lauren will compete as a mini. Next year she moves up to the Youth division.

Blaire also competed. She competed on two teams. One of her teams did great (see below) and the other team also did well. However, they had very tough competition. It was a great cheer weekend.
