Chicago Vacation - Day 4

Day 4 of our vacation was also 4th of July. Since we had celebrated the day before we decided to just have a low key day. Lauren and started the day with a trip to the lodge to get smoothies and coffee. We all then went swimming for a few hours then it was time to pack up and leave Lake Geneva. On our way to Chicago we stopped by the Chicago Botanic Gardens. We didn't last very long. We decided to go leave and go to dinner and make it an early evening. The girls were so tired they did not even wake up when the fireworks started.

Chicago Vacation - Day 3

July 3 was our 3rd day of our vacation. In Lake Geneva the 4th of July celebration was on the 3rd of July. We started the day with coffee and smoothies. (Coffee for me, smoothies for the girls.) We got some pictures and then we went to the pool. The pool had crafts, hot dogs, and of course lots of swimming fun.

In the evening the resort had games, face painting, great food and entertainment. Lauren and I entered the hula hoop contest. Lauren did great. I won the parent division. It was fun to do that with Lauren.

We then watched the fireworks. Lauren thought they were great. It was a great way to celebrate the 4th of July (even if it was a day early.)

Chicago Vacation - Day 2

Lauren enjoying the pool

We started the day 2 of our vacation with swimming in the pool. It was a hot and humid day in Lake Geneva, so the pool felt so good. The girls had a great time. After a few hours of swimming we went shopping at the outlet stores nearby.

In the evening we went out to a great pizza place for dinner. The girls got hats while we were shopping and they had to wear them at dinner. I do think they look very cute. It was a nice and relaxing day.

Chicago Vacation - Day 1

Lauren and I were able to spend some time in Chicago this summer visiting friends. We left on Friday afternoon and arrived in Chicago in the evening. We then drove up to Lake Geneva to spend a few days. We stopped for dinner and I was able to get a few pictures.

Lauren was really looking forward to seeing Ella. She was so excited finally see her again. Once we got to Lake Geneva it was late and the girls went right to bed.
