Easter Morning

Ready for Lauren to wake up!!

Lauren looking at what she got.

Finally the pillow pet she has wanted.

Egg hunt time.

All done and time to get ready for church.

We began Easter morning with the basket ready for Lauren to unpack. She was thrilled with all the items she got but the best was the pillow pet she has wanted since Christmas. She was so happy. Lauren then has a small egg hunt in the house. We started this last year and it is a fun way to start the day.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Saturday afternoon Lauren and I went over to Don and Janine's home to color Easter eggs and to have fun evening. Sammie and Jacob were not able to come and Blaire was at another party so it was a small group but we had a great time.

Signs of Easter

When Easter comes I try to get the house ready. We only have a few decorations but they always add a little Easter spirit to the house. Of course it always look great when the Easter basket is full of fun items waiting for Lauren to discover the treasures.

Palm Sunday

Ready for church

Singing in Church this morning.

Silk tie egg dying
Beautiful eggs.

This morning in church the1st - 4th grade classes sang in front of church. It was hard to get a good picture but I tried.

After church we dyed eggs using silk ties. I had read about this and wanted to try it out. Yesterday we went to some thrift stores and got some silk ties. We then cut them and put them around the eggs and boil them. It was fun to unwrap them and see how they turned out. They are so pretty. I am sure we will try this again sometime.

Softball Season Over

Friday Night was Lauren's last softball game of the season. She really learned a lot this season. She became a good hitter and her throwing got better and better as the season went on. Her fielding got better but we still need to work on that some more. She is already looking forward to next year. Next year it gets a bit more difficult, the kids start to pitch to each other. It should be fun.

Happy Birthday Grant and Sammie!!

The cousins ready to watch Grant and Sammie open presents.

Grant opening one of his presents.

I see Grant every morning when I drop Lauren off for school. Grant and Lauren act like brother and sister with fighting and arguing but I know that I can trust Grant to be there for Lauren when she needs him.

The birthday kids.

Blowing out their candles.

Sammie and Grant have birthdays 2 days apart so many years we celebrate together. Tonight we went over to Don and Janine's house for the birthday party. It was fun to watch Grant and Sammie open their presents. Grant is getting to the age where he mainly gets gift cards. Sammie still gets a pile of fun toys.

I just can't believe that Sammie is 5 years old and will be starting kindergarten this fall. It is equally shocking that Grant is 11 years old. He will be starting middle school next year. It is strange to think that when I moved back to Arizona Grant was just 9 months old. Time just flies by.
