After the first day of competition we all went to Goofy Dinner. The girls had a great time and it was a fun way to celebrate the season.

Prize time!!

Lauren's last cheer competition was this weekend. It was the National Championships. The girls did great and although they didn't win they had a great time. They did the best they could and they did not have any falls and missteps. I am so proud of how well they did. The best part was that they really had a fun weekend.

For me it was a LONG week. On Tuesday I came down with a very bad case of strep throat. It was painful and I missed the rest of the week of work. We then flew to Anaheim on Friday. I was just starting to feel better was still not great. By Saturday I was feeling a bit better and was able to enjoy the competition on Saturday and Sunday. We went to Disney Sunday night after the awards and were planning on spending all day Monday there also. Sunday night was good. But Monday morning Lauren woke up and did not feel good. We made it down to Disney and it was cold and started to rain. It only rained for about 90 minutes but it was cold all day. We decided to leave after a few hours and go back to the hotel and take a nap. Lauren slept for 3 hours. We headed back to Disney later that afternoon and Lauren started to feel sick again. We made it an early evening and went back to the hotel and slept.

The next morning I woke up SICK! I thought I had what Lauren had had but soon realized my Strep was back. It seems that the infection was too powerful and overtook the meds. I ended up back at the doctor on Weds with stronger meds. I just want to feel better and forget about the past week.

Easter Egg Hunt

Every year the cousins have an Easter egg hunt. The kids all get assigned a color to find and then the eggs are hidden according to their age and ability. This year Lauren wanted to find the yellow eggs.

The kids had find looking for the eggs. This year it was strange. They kept finding each other's eggs and telling them where they were hidden. Sammie would just bring them the egg she found. It was a little different this year but still fun. There were no lost eggs this year which is a surprise. Jacob's eggs were all set for him to find but he then decided a nap was more fun. Maybe next year he will join the hunt.

HAPPY EASTER!!

We went over to Brian and Diane's home for a light breakfast and then to church. Of course before heading for church we had a get a few pictures with all the kids all dressed up for Easter services.

Lauren did not want to go into Sunday School so she joined me in church. After church we went back to Brian's for lunch and the Easter egg hunt!

Lauren was excited to see what she got in her basket. This year I hid a few eggs in the house for her to find before we went to Brian and Diane's house. We had a fun morning and Lauren loved the items she got.

I love Easter time. It is so fun to decorate the house in colorful eggs and bunnies. The house always looks better after the Easter bunny has delivered a basketful of goodies.

Friday evening we went over to Janine and Don's house to color Easter eggs and to celebrate Sammie's and Grant's birthday. Sammie turned 4 years old on April 1st. Grant turned 10 on March 30.

Lauren had a great time enjoying the evening with her cousins.
